What is the opinion of Experts to having a Bank of capacitors in a Power saver Type unit which are smart switched in or out as demand increases or decreases to increase Power Factor.
I assume the Powersave Type of units do not have this technology.

For what purpose? Correcting power factor does not save enough energy to make it worthwhile for only that reason. If, however, you are getting penalized for poor pf, then correcting it will save money on your bill, just not in the form of energy savings.

For places where power factor correction makes sense, the best option is correction capacitors that are matched and connected to the load so that they are only in the circuit when the load is on. Probably the next option would be some type of automatic correction, like this. The last would be fixed correction. You have to do a lot of cost calculations to see which, if any, of these options makes economic sense.
