When installing outside receptacles, do you need a disconnect, besides the disconnect for the circuit in the box, i am talking about a seperate disconnect located outside for just regular 120 power. I am running 3 maybe 4 receptacles outside in a wooded lot, and i tried looking in the code for resdential wiring, and it kept bringing me to the receptacles on the house. But these are not attached to the house, this might be a really easy question fro most but i am 2 month rookie.
Thanks

Re: outside receptacles

More information is needed. is the location a trailer park etc.? If it is just a private use area I am not sure if a disconnect is required. I would put this question to you, if there was a problem ie fire or electricution would you be able to de-energize that receptacle inorder to facilitate removal of the danger? If not put the disconnect in. It is cheaper than a life and usually cheaper than the replacement of the equipment that may be damaged with extended shorting and /or fire. :)
