When coverting HP to KW does phase take account?
I have a situation where i was asked to calculate the running cost of having a 75 HP motor run for 80 hours.
I used KW=480VAC*100A*1.732/1000 to calculate my answer but when I asked my coworker if I was right he calculated cost using the equation 1 HP=746 W.
Which way is the right way to go about finding the solution, and why?
