ceiling fan install

need to install a fan. problem is that it's on first floor ceiling and have nothing to support it to. have 1/2 inch drywall, about 20" of space til 2nd floor concrete. there are steel beams about 54" apart. how can I support the fans weight when I really only have the drywall for support? BTW, it's newly installled drywall and has been textured, so client doesn't want to tear up drywall to put a 2x4 support between beams. any thoughts?
