Demand Meter Wiring

I am in the process of installing several E-mon D-mon demand meters. Wiring diagrams shows voltage connections to be made from a 3-pole circuit breaker with 1/10amp in-line fuses installed to protect the meter. My question to the supplier is can this connection be made from an existing circuit breaker and their responce was yes. My question to the forum is this in violation of the NEC relative to circuit breaker installation.
