The first batch of solar power monitoring systems has almost completely shipped and I got props from my client on how clean the systems came out.

However, I did get one comment -- apparently Florida is not friendly to un-coated galvanized steel. The back panel in the enclosure is NOT powder coated in part because I didn't want to have to cut threads in it.

I provided my client with a cost increase to add powder coating and they rejected it. Their right, no? But now I'm starting to think that perhaps I need to just eat the cost. Do any of y'all have experience with un-coated back panels (false backs) in NEMA 1 enclosures rotting due to salt air? The NEMA 1 box is inside a typical solar "power shed", but would presumably have all that yummy salt air surrounding it.
