Can type XLPE conductors be used in interior raceways if they comply with UL's VW-1 flame test? The cable is labeled "10 AWG TYPE PHOTOVOLTAIC 90C WET OR DRY SUN RES -40C 600V XLPE(UL) FOR CT USE". Also how would I know which column of 310.16 to use for derating calculations if XLPE is listed?

For use in NEC applications it would have to have one of the markings shown in T310.104(A) in the 2011 code of T310.13 in older codes.

Interesting question concerning XLPE cover on PV cabling to interior raceway installations. As one might know that cross-linked polyethelyne is a sunlight-flame resistant cover (over the primary XHHW conductor insulator) used on USE (Direct Burial) and triplex (Drop cabling) that are not dwelling indoor permitted according to the NEC general wiring entrance applications. Depending on feeder and main service cable applications will determine whether Table 310.15 or Table 310.16 is selected for PV cabling ampacity as a separate power source.
In Solar PV using XLPE in 690, cable ratings will include different correction factors that may affect beneath roof entry wiring methods permitted by 690.31. The PV cable markings or labeling is required for permitted locations.

It doesn't matter what the application is, if the installation is covered by the NEC you cannot use a cable that is only marked XLPE.
