Seperately derived sytem , not seperately derived. What is the advantage , disadvantage of one over the other . Why would you choose one over the other?

SDS is normally speced where the requirements of 230.95 need to be met.

What i am looking at are the examples Exhibit 250.11 and 250.12 in the 2011 handbook. I have both of these in my system . My ground fault is located in my service equipment so when the utility is down gfci doesn't do anything. So back to my original question , advantage-disadvantage between .11 & .12 .
