We have a project where all the electrical rooms were open to the roof of a metal structure.
They just changed this to one hour fire rated ceilings @ 9 feet (which is too low since I have suspended transformers in these rooms, but that's not what I'm asking about).

This is a health care facility and every room is filled with surface mount panels of all the different branches.

How do you go about running all the conduits up through the rated ceilings and keeping the rating intact?

The ceiling will have 5/8" rock on the bottom and 1" shaft liner(?) on top.

I agree with this but also the arch/eng will usually provide a UL assembly drawing/number showing which methods can be used to maintain the rating.
