Don't get your hopes up for fire prevention though.
We moved a service from behind the washer to an outside wall. CH 3R. Old two story farm house.
Way more than 6' so we did the AFCI bit. Two tripped. One was a EG to neutral short in a surface mounted bakelite recept in an upstairs closet. The other was a ceiling fan that was wired incorrectly. The guys gave no detail as to how on that one.
We were impressed and so was the owner.
Come to think of it the breakers passed but the guys failed. They should have found the Neutral to EG fault before they installed the breaker. I just went over that with one of them last week.
