I would suggest GFCI. Not required though. Make sure the customer understands what it does for him. One $15 gfci vs one $3000 cow or $25000 bull.

But seriously, what if a GFCI breaker trips and you get no water? If the site is unattended, you might end up with the same dead animal. I'd go with the EPD if the GFCI isn't a requirement. 30ma is not likely to kill a bull.

Might be enough to keep them from drinking which results in same problem. Just takes longer.
