It is my understanding that it is not recommended to share a neutral with fluorescent lighting because of the harmonic loads. What is your opinion. I am looking at a 480/277 wye system with 277 lighting.
I don't think you will have much trouble on the branch circuit level, the service and larger feeders is what you need to watch more, and if you have a data center, with line to neutral loads you need to watch it even more. Those harmonics build up on service and feeders even if you run a separate neutral with every ungrounded conductor at the branch circuit level.
We used to do it all the time, now with the rules for simultaneous disconnection of multiwire branch circuits and the unavailability of handle ties for 277 volt single pole breakers we are getting away from it.
