transfer switch for generator

Electric range is on a 50 amp breaker, what size breaker do I need in the transfer switch? The hot water heater and heat pump are on disconnects, do I still just wire the transfer switch to the breakers as normal?

I am sorry but this is a diy question AND it is clear you need to get some professional help from a local electrician. Beside that there isn't near enough info here to answer the question.

You need to be a lot more informative.
Is this a transfer switch/power panel combo?
I don't understand what the heat pump and hot water heater being on disconnects has to do with it either, are the fused disconnects? Are the disconnects fed from the panel you want to put on the transfer switch?
