I was informed there is a requirement that in an alarm condition, the FA system should turn on the house lighting to full bright in a high school's gymatorium (500 seat). The location is in Broward county, Florida. This is not a problem to accomplish, I can tie the lighting control system to the FA notification circuit, but I need to know the code and section to refer to. I cant find this requirement in print. NFPA 101, 72, or Florida building code. Any help you can give is appreciated.

I know in NJ this is required for nightclubs with an occupancy over 100, but nothing in the IBC requires anything similar in a group E occupancy. Contact Broward county directly to confirm/refute the requirement. They should give you the code/ordinance mandating it if required.
