Pool ground

I know outside the ground has to be insulated going to the outlet but does the ground have to insulated going to a junction box before it goes outside if it a wire to feed a pool circuit?

i believe this was covered before in this forum. it can be bare up to the "inside" or "structure" Jbox where you transition to insulated egc.

There are many changes in the 2017 NEC that address this very subject. Here is the simplified version:

For a corrosive environment = insulated equipment grounding conductor

For a non-corrosive environment = Chapter 3 wiring methods OK to use

First, let's be sure we are talking about the pool pump and not the pool light, Secondly, I am assuming this is not a storable pool.
