POCO here requires a lever bypass 4-terminal meter base. The one they list on their website (Millbank) quotes for about $282 at the supply house!

Looking for what is commonly used for similar specs in other parts of the country...

CA utility I worked for does not even allow "lever bypass" sockets, since they are "ringless" overs and require removal of the meter cover to remove the meter. We required stud type "test bypass" meter enclosures. Bypass meters were not allowed on residential and were required on non-residential.

The two POCO's we deal with have an approved list of meter cans. If you don't use one of the approved meter cans they won't hook up the service.

For the most part the lists are the same or very similar, but there are a few exceptions.
I'm sure your POCO has other manufacturers cans that are approved, but you'll need to check with them.

Most of the 200 amp bypass cans are 3 phase or single phase, that is probably why they are so costly.
