For transformers that are 480V Delta to 120/208V Wye such as Square D's EXN75T3H, even though the original primary service is 480/277 Wye, do you simple take the 3 hots to the transformer and ignore the neutral? Is that how it turns ends up being 480V delta at the transformer? Or is the delta irrelevant at that point?

Delta is the configuration of the three primary windings and in the case of the 480-208Y/120 transformer there is only three connection points on the delta primary so even if you brought a neutral to the transformer there would be no place on the primary to connect it.

That's what I was thinking originally, have had a few guys bring that up on the primary side but never knew quite how to answer it. I just knew to get the voltages correct on both sides and ask if it's delta or wye on the secondary.
