I am doing renovation work in my home. My basement is unfinished and I am running NM Cable. I live in an area where there are no local codes. They go by IRC 2009. I have a question on section E3802.4 It gives all the information on how to properly run nm cable in an unfinished basement. The problem is, it does not mention a ceiling height in that code. My house was built in 1927 and my basement ceiling is only 6.5 feet. I just want to make sure that the protection rules for nm cable in ceilings listed in that section is ok for that ceiling height. The basement will always be unfinished so I have to make sure it is properly protected. I dont want to run MC Cable but if I have to, it is not a tragedy. Clarification on this issue would be much appreciated. Thank You
