We are installing a 200A meter socket directly on top of an existing 200A disconnect. I plan on using a 3” galv close nipple to run the wires through. If the top of the disconnect has a hub knockout on top of it, is a hub required for the nipple to thread into? I wanted to have the meter socket almost directly on top of the disconnect so it will be within PoCo’s height requirements... I know 2-3” isn’t gonna make or break this but I just want to know if using a hub is REQUIRED by NEC for this application.
Thank you
