I don't think they understand basic electrical theory or real world wiring practices.

How about when they count ALL electrical burns as arc flash? I mean when OSHA says the victim was burned by direct contact, that’s a shock. If it’s over 1 A or so you get a burn but it’s not arc flash. Once you realize this we get stats like 50% of electrical injuries are arc flash.

The Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI) is the premier 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated exclusively to promoting electrical safety at home and in the workplace.

Founded in 1994 as a cooperative effort by the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), ESFI depends on the support of community and industry stakeholders to provide funding for the development of new programs and resources throughout the year. ESFI receives funding from electrical manufacturers, distributors, independent testing laboratories, retailers, insurers, utilities, safety organizations, and trade and labor associations.

210.12's 'combination' debut was a tad rough

The subsequent 'supplementary afci's' , which are no more than pre-combo afci's , became code

read the old rop's, UL, CPSC were active , either directly or as alternates.

in fact , you'll find some have been alternates for decades....

These folks all profited, dodged class action , and set up a 501C3 to validate themselves

In simple terms they lie the same way normal people tell the truth.

Biased would be a more benign term MBrooke.

501C3's maintain they are non profit

Yet individuals they employ can profit all they'd like personally

from decisions that affect the public good
