Easy questiion (I think).....can ATEX rated devices be used in US if they aren't stamped with the appropriate Class/Div?
Also.....client has a piece of equipment from EU.....They actually had plastic strain reliefs for cables for the transition from the classified area to the non classified area. Enclosures do not look XP....motor cabling is not in xp flex (simply strain reliefs into motor and from enclosure).
Equipment is currently in a non classified area. Plans are to move it into a classified area probably within 6 months.....I've told client ATEX ratings are not compatible for US installations. I believe we would need to have seals, xp, purged (enclosures) or intrinsically safe wiring in all instances.
Thanks, bob
