I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of any clause that would allow (or not allow) this?
We have a device approved for Class 1 Div 1 locations but the client wants to install in Class 2 Div 2 location.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

while this is true, the requirements for CIID2 are pretty relaxed and it may well be that your explosion proof equipment also meets the requirements for being in such an area. IIRC, enclosures are generally only required to be dust tight.

In general, most non-heat producing devices that are marked for use in Class I locations, are also marked for use in Class II locations.
