I am retrofitting a non-classified building to Class 1 Division 2. The existing Lighting has been run using RMC with Standard Galvanized Fittings (LB, Tee, Condulets...). Are these standard fittings acceptable for Class 1 Division 2 applications? Per 501.10.b.2.4, Boxes and Fittings shall not be required to be explosionproof except as required by... The new Light Fixtures will be appropriately rated and will be provided with seal-offs.
