Using a threaded Union in C1D2 location?

Is it ok?

Does it have to be explosionproof? Or is regular union ok?
There will be seal-offs on either side of this C1D2 location.
This is for an above ground storage tank for gasoline.

Code gets a little confusing and I don't have a lot of experience dealing with classified location. If you have suggestions can you give a code reference so I can learn a bit about this stuff.

Class I, Division 2 does not require explosion proof conduit fittings, except between an enclosure that is required to be explosion proof and the sealing fitting.
