To disconnect or not?

We have some three phase 120/208v plugs on the outside of our building and the disconnect for them are in side the building. We plug in mobile equipment to them.
Should we have disconnects outside and what code does this apply to?

Are you asking about receptacles? A plug is a connector on the end of a cord.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of an applicable Code Article except 110.3(B) referencing manufacturing recommendations.
Two questions come to mind. What amperage ? and are you plugging them or unplugging them under load ?
(I have seen cord and plug mfg instructions on large amperage plugs advising not to plug/unplug under load).
If you are plugging/unplugging under load, I disconnect at the recep, would be advisable, IMHO.
