I am an engineer, but do not have a lot of experience with hazardous locations. The plant where I work now has a lot of hazardous areas, Class I Div. 1. I would like to get some really good training on classifying areas, protection techniques, inspection and maintenance.

Can anyone recommend a good class??

Thank you.

NFPA has a series of 1 day seminars. They are pretty good but personally, I would only consider them introductory and none of trainers I know (and I know all but one of them) have practical operating/design experience.

You might also try googling hazardous location training courses. Don't touch anything that emphasizes ATEX. It's ok to learn, but it means nothing in the US.
