I have a customer that bought a house with a finished basement. The person that finished the basement didn’t put all of the light fixtures on the switch so all but one are wired hot and have pull chains. Anyone know of a device that could be put into the box of the fixture that IS switched that would transmit to receivers that could be put in the other fixtures to turn them on?

I've done it with wireless remotes for ceiling fans. They understood the fan button wouldn't do anything no matter how much they tried. Had a nice dimming feature for the light, too.

I'm sure there are good light-only remotes, but the ceiling fan ones are cheap and available at any hardware store.

EDIT: I don't read so good. I was picturing wanting new switches for the other lights. I'll just leave my answer there as a poor alternative.

There are probably cheap socket adapters that can do this and owner can install easily - not necessarily good for sales for an electrician though.
