throwback thursday. ok, i posted late.

putting radio ra in the house.
    maestro dimmers.

got to the garage, and the lights there wouldn't dim with a maestro. they shoulda, but they dinna'.....

so, i'm thinking... i'll just put a maestro switch instead of a dimmer. then i price the lights and the dimmer.

a dozen lights are the same price as the dimmer.

i have new lights in the garage now. dim fine. better light quality.

the architectural grade i had in there were from 2008. they were free to me, but $200 each with the trims back then.

check out the old, and the new. one is about 4 pounds, the other 4 ounces.

Yeh, I would’ve guessed well over $200/ea on those trims. We were paying nearly that for the original 6” CREE’s with the GU10 base and giant heat sink 10 years ago.

Amazing how far prices have dropped.

Old ones probably designed to last another 10 years.

New ones probably 5 yrs, or less if ambient exceeds listing
