When installing 120VAC fixtures in a high-bay type application and using a cord and plug connection, are twist-lock plug and connectors required or can the standad 120VAC straight plug and connecters be used? Plugs would be mounted directly above the fixtures.

Thanks

The code does not specify what type of attachment plug and cord must be used just that it must be located directly above the luminaire.

(Check out 410.62(C)(1))

I have always used a twist-lock style of cord cap for this type of install.

I would think locking plugs would be preferred. Whatever you do, use good plugs -Hubbell or Leviton only. P&S, anything from cooper, and the like are inferior
