    Par-38 or LU150

Maybe you guys can help...Can I change a Par-38 HPS bulb out with a LU150 bulb. Both bulbs are HPS, both bulbs are 150 watt. Both medium based.

    Any thoughts

The lamp must always be matched to the ballast designation. If it does, you are good to go. If they are both 150 watt you are probably fine but I would double check anyway.

There could be a potential problem in that a par bulb is a reflector bulb and the LU is not. The fixture may not do well or be designed to work with an LU bulb simply because of the way heat could be trapped in the fixture.

I would be careful with this and see if the fixture lists bulb types.

      I can't help it if I'm lucky
