Recessed Troffer retrofit kit suspension

Is it necessary to screw (mechanically connect) the metal framework of a retrofit kit to the existing troffer body in a recessed T-grid ceiling? I couldn't find anything in the code referring to retrofit kit requirements.

Not that I'm aware of. We installed thousands of projects in New York State with these kits and never got cited for it. The retrokits are usually pressure fitted in place and are pretty stable.
