Low voltage 3-Way

A client has asked for a 3-way switch to be put in at each end of a100ft long low voltage lighted walkway.
Is there a way to wire a 3 three way switch other than running line voltage to each end.

You could elect to use a low voltage relay system or one of the wireless switching systems.

Does that wire need to be conduit or can it be in the same trench as the Low voltage conductor?

This trench will run down hill and under three concrete walkways.

I would switch the line voltage to the transformer, and not the low voltage.

I suggest a simple X-10 setup. It would allow additions, such as key-fob remotes.
