I have a client that has asked me to verify that our installation method is up to code. We install a 16v sound masking system in ceiling plenums. All connections use wire nuts on 18ga. plenum rated wire. Connections are not in junction boxes. All wire is supported independently of connections. Where can I find NEC information on this?

Re: Low voltage sound masking

Without knowing what a sound masking installation is, I would direct you to look at Article 720 Circuits and Equipment Operating at Less than 50 volts and/or Article 725 Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 Remote-Control, Signaling, and Power-Limited circuits

Re: Low voltage sound masking

It is just a sound system that goes shshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshs, all day it kind of sounds like an air handler running in a ceiling
