Does 210.11(C)(2) for laundry circuit mean that you can't run the laundry room lights off the required 20A circuit for the receptacle?

(2) Laundry Branch Circuits. In addition to the number
of branch circuits required by other parts of this section, at
least one additional 20-ampere branch circuit shall be provided
to supply the laundry receptacle outlet(s) required by
210.52(F). This circuit shall have no other outlets.

Yes, that's correct.

May be correct but DUMB!:happyyes:

I usually don't put the lights on with the laundry recep but someone asked if you could. I would have thought you could until I read that section again.
To me, that's getting into a design issue, which NEC isn't supposed to do. But they are doing it more & more.

I've always heard that you can't- we just pick up the laundry light w/ a 15 the feeds other junk.

Could be they are worried about a perceived increased risk of injury (burned by iron??) w/ laundering equipment in the dark if the breaker trips for some reason, idk.
