2014 NEC article 422.31 (C) requires a disconnect for motor operated appliances greater than 1/8HP.
It requires the disconnect to be within site of the motor (IE the panel or an additional disconnect)
It does not mention if the additional disconnect has to be readily accessible.
Can anyone point me in the right direction if the additional disconnect (not the panel) is required to be readily accessible? Does 430.107 apply? and could the panel be considered the accessible disconnect?
I am aware of the 2017 code changes however this was designed using the 2014 cycle.
Thanks.
