Running romex where the wall and ceiling meets. Going to be hidden by crown moulding.. 300.4 only mentions notches in wood or boring through studs.... would I need to use a different raceway behind the crown molding?

(F) Cables and Raceways Installed in Shallow Grooves.

You need 1&1/4 free space or some type of protection for the cable

I see no NEC wording that would prohibit this without cable protection.
