Long time reader, first time poster!
We have an installation at our project site that some of us believe is a Code violation, but we are unable to cite an article to support that belief.
We have a panelboard installed adjacent to a lighting control panel with a nipple connecting them. The branch circuits are extended from the circuit breakers in the panelboard, through the nipple, and into the light control panel. The branch circuits are switched by the appropriate relays and the switched circuits are extended back through the nipple into the panelboard, up through the panelboard and out through conduits at the top of the panelboard backbox.
Is routing the switched circuits back through the panelboard a Code violation? If so, what article is violated?
NFPA could not come up with a violation.
Thanks for the help!
