Amphenol cross mating

I have been looking on the internet to see what is compatible with mc 4 connectors im getting mixed results, thank you

Yeah, mixing those is one of those things everybody does at some point even though technically you're not supposed to. One gets the feeling that the connector manufacturers say so just to try to get you to buy more of their brand.

FWIW, so far it has not come back to bite me.

I talked to solar edge tech about there optimizera they come with MC-4 connectors they told me it was fine to use the H-4 connectors

Multicontact says no, Amphenol says yes. Amphenol's third party testing organization says yes. UL doesn't say yes yet, and probably will not any time soon.

I don't know how anyone can supply brand-specific connectors EVERYWHERE in the project, when module manufacturers often don't even disclose the exact make/model until you see the modules delivered.
