# 6 PV bonding wire

Does the #6 bare bonding wire that is installed on the PV array have to be continued to the inverter or can it be reduced in size when leaving the combiner box ? Code article ?

The #6 bare is just for conductor protection (since #6 is the smallest wire that doesn't need any). A smaller wire can be used if it's protected.

So to answer your question, yes it can be reduced at the combiner. Can't remember the reference off the top of my head.
