Why cant we put the inverter in a garage?

SolarEdge makes an inverter with a built in EV charger, which is optimal when it is in the garage. In the past we have used a 3rd party rapid shutdown switch to meet the NEC requirements for DC disconnects. The only thing the Firefighters will know to shut off is the AC disconnect. So my question is why cant we just have the AC switch outside and keep the EV charger inverter inside?

You can. Who is telling you that you can't?

What rapid shutdown requirement are you trying to meet? (2014 or 2017?)

You don't need a third party DC switch for SolarEdge rapid shutdown on the HD Wave if the service disconnect is outside.

You can put the inverter inside, but you cant put the solar panel inside

I thought that DC Optimizers let you mount modules anywhere? Have I been lied to again? What's next, bifacial modules can't collect the sunlight from the other side of the world on the backside at night?
