(NEC 2008) Shouldn't this section use the nominal branch circuit voltage of 120 volt instead of 125 volt which implies a receptacle rating?

Would not 110.4 apply?

I've noticed the Code is full of discepancies when dealing with 'nominal' voltages. 110,115, 120 and 125 are all scattered throughout. "Light Fixture" was easily changed to "luminaire", so why can't all the 110s, 115s, 120s and 125s all be changed to the same number? It's not like the NFPA is still writing the Code with electric typewriters.

Circuits are listed at a nominal voltage, such as 120, 208, 240, 277, 480, etc.
Receptacles are listed at their ratings: 125, 208, 250, etc.
Motors are listed at thier ratings: 115, 230, 460, etc.
