Suggestions on good binoculars for checking overhead lines?

I don't know a lot about different types of binoculars and I need a good pair to check our overhead power lines.

I need kinda cheap, this is one the boss won't pay for..... What is a good number "like 50X ETC"? And sometimes I need them in low/no light.

2 1/2 x 10 x 50 - Leopolds are much cheaper . Nikon are good, too. Get water proof ones.

A good infrared camera will properly look at them-get one with a good zoom capability..........

I have a pair of 7x35 Nikon binoculars I got years ago but I had a very good Minolta pair that was alot cheaper. I use them for bird watching-- for real.
I also have a 20 power spotting scope with tripdod. Scope by Bushnell.

if you're just gonna get a scope, get one with a nice gun attached to it.

Check with your bird-watching friends, they know whats good and where to get a reasonable price. Also consider the newer image stabilized models.

Binocs are optical, and are worthless in no light.

I would suggest looking into Canon's Image Stabilization system.

Celestron also makes binocs with a digital camera installed.
