We have tried to update the electrical distribution drawings in our manufacturing plant ( 200,000 SQ Ft ) .We have a lot of old test stands ( hydraulic )with really no drawings on them . Mainly the control circuits as the 480 or 240V feeds are easy to identifiy as they are mounted at the test stands .How does OHSA view this as I am going to approach management about trying to create updated drawings on these test stands !

We have stands with two pumps ,high and low pressure .Start ,stops, temperature and flow indicators, relays for cooling and heating soleniods ,differental pressure lights ,contactors for heating and pumps ,etc . We test Aerospace parts .Most of the stands are about 6' wide by about 4' deep with the pumps behind them in a pump room .The disconnect and controller are in the pump room .Its staright forward for the disconnect but we have no drawings showing the stands control wiring .

I am not sure about control wiring drawings, but their is a requirement for companies that are covered by the rules for Process Safety Management to have up to date process control drawings.
There is a requirement in 70E for up to date power distribution drawings and that could be enforced by the use of the general duty clause.

Would you have the distribution system in a simplified block diagram document? That would be the minimum for any audit analysis. rbj
