ICC Electrical Certification vs IAEI certification

This is my first post. Has anyone heard of the rumor that the ICC may start
Electrical Certification program . Today in our Wednesday Building meeting in Chattanooga that due to rising cost in dues of IAEI certification and membership. Thanks for any input.

For the IAEI cert you have to have some verifiable practical experience. We don't have a lot of marinias in this town, which is one of the things you have to have inspected.

Since most BO's belong to the ICC they seem to put more stock in thier certs, so that's the one I got.
 
Can someone take tests and receive ICC Residential Electrical Certification, and/or ICC commercial Electrical Certification the same as you do IAEI, or is ICC testing part of overall building inspection ?

You can take just the residential inspectors certification or commercial electrical inspectors certification separately.

ICC has 4 residential certifications, electrical, plumbing, building and mechanical. There are also 4 commercial certifications.

I hold all 8 ICC inspectors certifications.

The thing is, you have to take the Residential Electrical Cert and the Commercial Electrical Cert in order to get the Electrical Inspectors Cert. So you have to pay for two tests in order to get three certs.

i dont believe you can anymore. ICC has made a statement that it will not accept reprocity for their license anymore. Atleast, that is what they said to our municipal. I happen to have both and I have more faith in my ICC certs. than the others...lol
 
ICC will not reciprocate with the IAEI certifications as of January 2009 but the IAEI will reciprocate with the ICC certifications for about 15 dollars each. The easiest way to get both is to take the ICC exams and then send the score reports to IAEI with a check and you will get both certifications. If you need the address for the IAEI let me know.
