Yes you can, and if you can't easily meet the rules for pool feeders (680.25) and this is an existing feeder, you'll need to point that out to the inspector (and perhaps have proof of when that feeder was installed -- hopefully it has an inspection sticker or a permit on file). If the feeder is totally wrong and was never code compliant (e.g. a subpanel in the same building using the neutral as a grounding conductor), you may have an issue to fix.
