What is the market price for a breaker coordination study? What is the market price for a arc flash study? I know it depends on the size of the facility but I thought there might be a ballpark per device cost that people have used.

About $100 per point is an average.

Are you including the collection of data in your average? For many locations data collection can be almost as expensive as the study it self.

The cost of producing a report for a small facility is drastically more expensive per point than it is for a very large facility.

Yep I was including data collection (Which is a big factor). However, you are right about the size of the facillity, dont think I ever did one less than 500 points so my average would be for a larger facillity (Did a 4,000 point one, that was fun :)). Samller facillities woulld be higher, thanks for pointing that out.

I'm assuming that you guys include each overcurrent device as one point and each bus as one point. Your points aren't including # of motors, correct? Just trying to fully understand your terminology.

We skip transformers smaller than 125kVA with 240V max secondary, and motors smaller than 50HP @ 480V (25HP @ 240V).

The study is one thing, accurate data collection is another issue. Depends upon how clean/clear existing system parts (i.e. identifiable) are as well as existing documentation and the accuracy thereof. Unless I had some idea of the facility, I'd NEVER suggest a per unit cost for a study if I also had to walk it down to begin with, but that's me.

I'm actually starting a large walk-down tomorrow that I have 4.5 months to complete; starts w/ 12.5 and works its way down. The customer (thus far) will be doing the study w/ my data. I hope to sell doing the study too though.
