I had a service call to change out an HPS bulb but noticed the inside center of the replacement bulb was tilted off center. I didn't think much of it until it burnt out in one day...I had another on site and replaced it, but it was from the same batch and burnt out in 2 days. I don't think they noticed any signs of ballast failure (flicking off and on) Could the filament of an 150 HPS floodlight not centered in a bulb be too close to the bonded reflector to cause such a quick failure? The supplier hasn't had any problems with them that I know of. I know the bulb shouldn't be exposed to the elements but the glass cover of the floodlamp has been missing for years and the bulb had been working until I replaced it while I was there.
