Santronics. I believe is the brand I prefer?? They are red with a white tip. Have no audio, but they also have no on/off switch to remember to turn on!

Whatever one you get, get the kind that takes AA or AAA batteries. Those little watch batteries are nowhere around when your ticker goes dead.

The Hioki takes 3 LR44's. I also carry a laser pointer that takes 3 LR44's. I carry 3 extra in my briefcase that I get at the grocery store across the road for around a $1.20 each. They last a long time.

The (2) Greenlee tracers that I've owned take AAA batteries.
I've had a problem with the on-off switch on both of those

The one I got Al was afraid of electricity. He would turn it on, hold it to a wire and it shut off. Got many a chuckle watching him get plenty ticked about that. Not sure how many pieces that thing is in now, but I know its more than one.

Just bought the klein one, i like the green led that stays on when its turned on but the cap has to be reseated every now and then or it gets flakey. Side note, I almost choked when i saw the lamp on a shovel, That Is Great!!! I'm joining the AL fanclub
