Is it necessary to run a grounding wire from the well piping back to the service panel. The service panel is in the garage at the front of the house and the well piping is in the back of the house. Maybe 50 or 60 feet. I been reading 250.104, 250.52. In 250.52(A)(1) prohibits the use of that portion of the interior metal water piping system that extends more than 5ft beyond the point of entrance. I quess my question is do I need to ground well back to panel.

No. The well iteself does not need to be grounded - its already in the ground.

The NEC permits a metal well casing to service as a grounding eletrode for a service. The code also requires the metal well casing to be bonded to the circuit that may energize it.

When I read the question I am unsure what is meant by "well piping".
IMHO, an underground water pipe that meets the requirement in 250.52(A)(1) would need to meet the requirement therein regardless of it being well water or public water supply, but as bphgravity states, the well "casing" would only be bonded to the water pipe if present at the well or to a circuit at the well for a submersible pump..
