Again the changing work environment leads me obtain yet another amp clamp meter. Although I am quite fond of my Fluke 337, it and many other meters do not lend themselves to measuring fractional HP motors well. My new digs has hundreds of fractional HP motors. I would not have believed a 1/25HP 3Ph 480 VAC motor existed, and you might have a hard time believing the size... The motor junction box is as large as the motor. But I digress...
I am looking to obtain the AEMC INSTRUMENTS CM 605, 100A amp clamp stile meter, which will cover both AC as well as DC currents at 1mA resolution. If anyone owns one or knows of a better model please provide feedback.
My only reservation is that this meter isn't listed as true RMS. Do you think measuring RMS matters at such small currents because the deviation is so small?
